About ME
Hey, I'm Chantal, creator of TST.
I am a Saint Leo University grad student. I am also an enrollment counselor and student mentor to pay the bills. I was an educator in the public school system for three years accumulating experience at all grade levels.
I discovered the classroom was not the place for me. Therefore, I reverted to my first loves which are the mic & my keyboard. The fear I once had is no longer enough to keep me avoiding my passions.
So, here I am.
I created TST to continue the mentorship I provided to students once upon a time but also to make learning fun and applicable.
Ultimately my goal was to be a motivational speaker, but I figure why not just bring that to the digital world?
Subscribe to my thoughts, interests, and personal growth.
It is our responsibility to share what we have learned through our experiences and have meaningful conversations. Maybe you will find something that could work for you.
I am a student and a teacher. This website includes original content and perspectives. It also provides recommendations that I have found to be helpful to me through the experiences and creations of others.
Enjoy.
Why i chose education

I struggled in school from the very beginning. I excelled at academics, but my social skills needed work. I still struggle with social anxiety. Although we may struggle in different ways, we all want the same thing. We want to be as happy and healthy as possible. Most of us anyway. Everyone talks about being rich but rich doesn't mean happy or healthy.
This trek starts at a young age. Our minds operate at their highest level during our earliest years. Yup, ages birth - five, to be exact, is the best time to set the foundation. These are the most critical years. However, we work with wherever we are in life. It is important to grow as a person every day.
I've said it many times, children are the key to the change we need to see in the world. There is no other way to make change. Currently, I have an AA in Liberal Arts, BA in Education, and am pursuing my Master's in Psychology. I do not take my education for granted. Therefore, I carry myself as someone who is educated because I recognize that degrees alone do not make you smart.
The bottom line
Realistically, every single child deserves one on one attention whether they are excelling academically or not. Although I won't reach every student, I hope to fill a fraction of the gap that has been growing exponentially in our school systems by helping to shape the minds of our future leaders. We probably don't need another rap star or media influencer before we need moral politicians, honest CEOs and exceptional world leaders. We need to make a change in these areas.
It is no secret that our country (USA) is facing some weird times. I believe we all need to do our part with whatever time we may have left. I know some others that feel the same.
